The Accounting & Human Resources Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the accounting and human resource functions of the agency. This dual-role position requires a highly organized and proactive individual who can balance accounting tasks, human resources responsibilities, and miscellaneous tasks to support the overall operations of the agency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
ACCOUNTING
- Execute monthly billing to clients
- Prepare and process payroll
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Maintain financial records and prepare financial reports
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
- Coordinate with external financial professionals as needed
HUMAN RESOURCES
- Oversee the recruitment process, including posting job ads, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews
- Manage employee onboarding and orientation
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with human resources regulations
- Assist with employee relations and resolve human resources issues as they arise
- Coordinate training and development programs
- Administer employee benefits and compensation plans
- Support performance management and employee evaluation processes
- Manage ESOP administration
IT SUPPORT MANAGEMENT
- Manage the relationships with third-party IT support providers
- Coordinate IT support requests and ensure timely resolution of IT issues
- Oversee IT-related vendor contracts and service agreements
KEY COMPETENCIES
- AN ACCOUNTING EXPERT: Someone with a strong understanding of accounting principles, including budgeting and financial reporting. This person should be proficient in managing accounts payable, receivable, and payroll
- A HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST: A candidate with knowledge of human resources regulations, recruitment processes, onboarding procedures, and employee relations. They must be competent in administering benefits and compensation plans
- AN ANALYTICAL THINKER: The ideal candidate will have the ability to analyze financial data and human resources metrics effectively. They must possess strong problem-solving skills and have a keen attention to detail
- A STRONG COMMUNICATOR: An excellent communicator (both verbal and written) capable of persuading, compelling, uplifting, inspiring, motivating and educating a team. They should have strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with associates, clients, and vendors
- AN ORGANIZED PROFESSIONAL: The right candidate will have exceptional organizational and time management skills. They must be able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- ACCOUNTABLE: Holds themself accountable for their actions, decisions, and deadlines
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in both accounting and human resources roles, preferably in a small to mid-sized company
- Strong understanding of financial principles and human resources practices
- Proficiency in accounting software and Google Workspace (and MS Excel)
- Experience with employee stock ownership plans (ESOP) preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
